What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Vivo Healthcare University?
The Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized physical therapy treatment programs for patients with a variety of physical impairments and functional limitations. The PT will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes and enhance overall quality of life.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions, functional limitations, and medical histories to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Design and implement physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities, to improve patients' mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
- Educate patients and their families on the physical therapy process, home exercise programs, and strategies to support recovery and prevent further injury.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Supervise and mentor Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and other support staff, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and quality standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to maintain current knowledge and skills in the field of physical therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in compliance with Vivo Healthcare policies and regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of practice as outlined by state and national regulatory bodies.
