Role Overview: You will be responsible for combining individual frozen bulk products of specific weights into finished pouches. This multifaceted role involves a combination of manual and automated processes to guarantee weight accuracy and quality in every pouch.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and dressed in appropriate work attire/uniform
- Adhere to safety protocols related to daily tasks, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Stage all materials required for pouching at each station in a timely manner
- Verify codes, pouch count, and box count to ensure accuracy
- Handle finished products and utensils aseptically
- Perform sample testing, documentation, and check-in of samples
- Weigh and transfer products according to blend sheet instructions with accuracy
- Ensure proper seals on finished product pouches to maintain food safety standards
- Maintain Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices, reporting any concerns to management
- Perform and document heat sealer verification check in’s (AM & PM)
- Set up, operate, break down, and clean/sanitize the Weigh Right (pellet filling machine)
- Ensure accurate weighing of products used in blends, minimizing the automated scale variance
- Clean, autoclave, and properly store utensils
- Clean & maintain equipment such as scales, freezers, Weigh Right, heat sealers, etc.
- Execute cleaning/sanitizing tasks in the blend room and other areas as per the Master Sanitation schedule and ensure complete documentation of activities
- Assist other departments as directed by the Supervisor/Lead
Qualifications/Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to respond with a high sense of urgency.
- Excellent time management, basic math, and flexibility.
- Able to work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Able to work in a cold environment for short periods.
Expected Scheduling: Weekdays, 6am-2:30pm with overtime as needed
