Role Overview: You will be responsible for testing all samples received from external customers. Test samples are food grade from food fermentations. Assay tests are for the presence of non-hazardous bacteriophage in dairy food fermentations. You must be able to maintain aseptic technique in all environments and especially while practicing basic laboratory skills.
Responsibilities
- Accurately conduct read results, analyze, and record test results from bacteriophage tests
- Practice safety in all aspects; wearing proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), etc.
- Maintain proper documentation and record keeping for field samples
- Preparing materials and complete testing of samples within a 72 hour time frame
- Communicate results to formulation manager and customers in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and well stocked working environment on a weekly basis
- Responsible for transferring bacterial strains on weekly basis for optimal test methods
- Fulfill any additional requests from supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Mastered aseptic technique is highly valued but not required
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills
- Capabilities to act as a strong independent and key team player
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
- Able to lift/carry up to 40 lbs
- Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
- Good work ethic and enthusiastic learner
- Consistent attendance and punctuality
- Advanced multitasking abilities in order to address different projects congruently
Expected Scheduling: Weekdays, 8am-4:30pm
