Summary:
Reporting to the CHRO, the Compensation Manager is responsible for managing the compensation function for the corporation. The Compensation Manager plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the companys goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages company-wide compensation programs, processes, policy, systems, tools, analysis, reporting, communications, and education
- Conducts research and analysis for job descriptions, and applicants for market analysis and ensures equity within the market
- Create compensation packages which meet employee needs while controlling costs and remaining market competitive, reviews proposals, and makes recommendations
- Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives
- Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
- Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.
- Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range
- Remains current with changing policies, technologies, services, and regulations (state and federal)
- Manages the updates to the job descriptions and job description database
- Completes changes in the HRIS system for creation of new job titles, communicates with the payroll team updates and changes
- Prepares materials for Compensation Committee meetings in partnership with the CHRO
- Manages Board compensation program including equity and cash retainers / fees
- Assist, as needed, with other HR administrative functions including filing, creating reports/spreadsheets, and updating employee records

Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business or Human Resources.
Experience Requirements:
3 years of compensation experience
Competencies:
- Knowledge of federal and state laws with solid HR policies and practices
- Effective time management
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
- Working knowledge of current government regulations relating to compensation and incentive plans
- Mathematical aptitude, analysis skills, and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Working knowledge of job analysis systems and compensation strategies, familiarity with various types of incentive and benefits programs
- Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, ability to develop presentations
- HRIS design and functionality
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Detail oriented and precise with excellent organization skills
