Viwinco is in search of a Procurement Manager who will serve as a strategic leader within the procurement function, driving enhancements in our supply chain systems to support the company’s ambitious growth plans by developing processes and capabilities that enable effective responses in a high-variation, short lead-time operating environment. This role will lead daily management practices within the procurement group through teamwork and individual contributions while collaborating across functions to ensure risk management, reliability, inventory regulation, cost-effectiveness, change management, and delivery and quality control. The Procurement Manager will also play a key role in strengthening supplier partnerships by implementing a performance feedback system.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Hire, coach, develop, and direct members of the procurement team responsible for direct and indirect spend.
- Perform essential purchasing duties while providing support and guidance to the team.
- Develop and audit standard work to ensure consistent and effective purchasing practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers at all levels, ensuring high levels of service and quality at the lowest total cost of use.
- Lead supplier negotiations and contract administration in alignment with company policies and objectives, ensuring strategic supplier contracts are legally binding and auditable.
- Monitor supplier pricing, communicate changes promptly, and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Conduct market assessments and supplier analyses to proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement sustainable long-term solutions.
- Utilize data-driven strategies, procurement metrics, and predictive models to optimize procurement processes, enhance MRP systems, and improve cost-efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to ensure seamless production and delivery.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement team performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct on-site visits with key suppliers to align objectives and strengthen strategic partnerships.
- Stay informed on industry trends and innovations to refine procurement strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement management experience handling high-volume SKUs and varying requirements.
- Proven ability to build, develop, and lead a procurement team.
- Track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements through strategic project management.
- Experience managing domestic and international supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and procurement software, with the ability to adapt to an in-house MRP system.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency, problem-solving ability, and perseverance in challenging situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong business acumen.
- Applied education and training in LEAN concepts and principles.
- Experience collaborating with IT and internal materials teams to develop scanning and automated data transfer systems, with exposure to AI-driven process enhancements.
- Ability to take ownership of process and system failures, communicate issues effectively, and implement improvement plans.
