What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Software Engineer position at VIZIO?
About the Team :
VIZIOs Technology Software and Services team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build the integration layer on our TVs, providing back-end business logic to support our user-facing applications and experiences, provide connectivity to other devices and platforms, and publish business-critical data to our analytics services. The Staff Software Engineer will participate in developing our integration platform, as well as collaborating with business and other engineering teams to design and implement solutions to solve our most important business problems. In this role, you will report to an Engineering Manager, and you will be part of a development team of around 8 developers. The position is primarily an individual contributor, but in time may have 1-2 direct reports. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in our Dallas, TX office.
What You Will Do :
- Feature Development : Design and implementation of assigned projects.
- Technical Guidance : Provide technical guidance on the development team.
- Quality : Encourage robust software through practices such as unit and integration testing, code review, and documentation.
- Innovation : Bring new ideas to the table to improve our customers' user experience.
- Communication and Collaboration : Work with other software engineers, other teams, product management, and business.
