Location: Gill, CO
Vizion Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery, a single-doctor equine specialty practice, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Technician to join our team! Led by a double board-certified veterinary surgeon and sports medicine and rehabilitation specialist, our practice is committed to providing top-tier care for equine athletes and companions.
About Us:
Located in Gill, CO, our practice serves mostly top-level western performance athletes and their dedicated, business-minded owners and trainers. Many of our cases are lameness evaluations or are referred elective surgeries, as we currently do not accept critical care emergency patients.
Our small yet highly specialized team includes another registered veterinary technician and a versatile office, barn, and assistant professional. We are a tight-knit group passionate about equine health and wellness, and we’re looking for a like-minded individual to contribute to our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be trained and expected to:
- Assist with equine anesthesia.
- Provide care for hospitalized patients.
- Handle horses for various procedures, including jogging for lameness evaluations.
- Perform laboratory procedures.
- Support general hospital and clinic duties, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities.
- Maintain accurate and efficient records using a cloud-based electronic medical records management system.
Qualifications:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (or eligibility and intention to obtain).
- Horse handling experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work well in a small team environment.
- General computer proficiency, including familiarity with cloud-based systems.
- Strong communication and client service skills to ensure a welcoming and professional experience.
- Energetic, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills.
- Must be able to jog and handle horses safely and lift 50 lbs.
