Join us as CEO to lead innovation, drive growth, and shape the future of our dynamic, impactful organization. Under direct oversight of the Tribal Council and Governor, the CEO manages the gaming and hotel operations and related facilities in accordance with the approved business plan and all pertinent tribal, state, and federal laws and regulations. The CEO is responsible for the vision and steady growth to ensure efficient, successful, and profitable operations; plans, develops, directs, and oversees all operational activities, establishes policies and objectives ensuring the integrity of operations. The CEO maintains confidentiality of all privileged information and provides Tribal Leadership with recommendations for all strategic plans and for Council-Level decisions pertaining to the operations.

  • Ensure each employee understands their integral part in the success of operations and the Pueblo.
  • Establish and sustain an excellent guest / customer service attitude for all team members.
  • Maximize each employee’s potential for self-esteem, confidence, and overall personal health and wellness.
  • Nurture an educational plan for all employees considering continuing education and professional development.
  • Encourage employees to learn from their decisions and take responsibility for their actions.
  • Foster an atmosphere that celebrates employees and teams’ successes.
  • Oversee implementation and execution of effective programs to recruit, hire, train, and retain a qualified workforce.
  • Actively foster a mentoring employee development environment throughout the organization.
  • Be committed to Native American / Tribal Preference by developing employees from within the Tribe / Pueblo.
  • Support leadership and development programs to prepare internal talent for higher management levels.
  • Encourage tribal members’ personal and professional development by establishing a “careers” culture.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Tribal Development :

  • Develop and maintain an organizational structure for maximum coordination and integration of leadership efforts.
  • Oversee department heads in their performance of functions.
  • Be highly motivated and results-oriented, fostering a motivating atmosphere.
  • Communicate vision to community members and employees for synergistic support.
  • Lead by example, being highly visible and empowering team members.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for the service of others and not be ego-driven.
  • Centralize business efforts where increased profitability, guest service, and employee morale are produced.
  • Ensure excellence in departmental and systems performances against defined objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a sound mission, vision, values, and strategic plan in conjunction with Tribal Council and Governor.
  • Delegate authority to the lowest appropriate level and uphold top down accountability.
  • Maintain focus on customer service and a team environment.
  • Be available to listen to guests, employees, community members, and tribal leaders.
  • Customer Development and Marketing :

  • Develop an understanding of community, guest, and customer expectations.
  • Implement a successful marketing strategy utilizing current research technology.
  • Lead development of revenues through market analysis and strategic implementation.
  • Identify market product and guest trends for profitability.
  • Identify competitors’ success and develop strategies to increase competitive edge.
  • Maintain programs to upgrade the quality of guests / customers.
  • Establish clear guest service requirements and ensure adherence by all team members.
  • Ensure a guest feedback procedure is in place and incorporated into planning.
  • Supervise the development of marketing programs to maximize revenues.
  • Requirements

  • Formulate a strategic plan (subject to Tribal Council and Governor approval) and oversee its implementation.
  • Requires decision making and taking calculated risks in gaming and resort operations.
  • Develop solutions to challenging problems using advanced management techniques.
  • Assume overall responsibility for sustaining the Tribe as a high-profile leader in the Native American business community.
  • Exhibit exemplary leadership and preservation of community cultural value.
  • Meet regularly with the Tribal Council and Governor to report financial and operational conditions.
  • POTENTIAL GROWTH :

  • Work with the design of proposed facility and / or gaming expansions, subject to Tribal Council approval.
  • Oversee development and implementation of design with architects and contractors.
  • REGULATORY :

  • Conduct operations in accordance with laws and regulations, cultivating positive relationships with regulators.
  • Be familiar with the Compact and ensure adherence to its requirements.
  • SAFETY AND WELFARE :

  • Have knowledge of safety and welfare laws and enforce compliance.
  • Demonstrate safe working practices and insist on safety training.
  • Support a healthy workforce through wellness initiatives and health insurance policies.
  • STRATEGIC PLANNING :

  • Demonstrate knowledge of strategic planning principles and methods.
  • Lead planning teams using proven techniques and hold accountable for milestones.
  • Drive to accomplish goals with sensitivity to cultural and community values.
  • Integrate and improve management-business plans for all profit centers.
  • SYSTEMS :

  • Make recommendations to the Tribal Council regarding cost-effective communication and financial systems.
  • Review and approve new gaming equipment, staying current with industry technologies.
