Fertilization Technician

Vizmeg Landscape is looking to add a Fertilization and Weed Control Technician to our team in Stow, OH! As our Fertilization Technician, you will oversee the fertilization and weed control maintenance of commercial and residential landscape accounts in your route, while cultivating new business opportunities.

Additionally, you will receive training on proper turf nutrition, insect pests and fungal diseases which affect turf. These skills will allow you to provide exceptional service and client satisfaction. What you’ll be doing:

• Fertilizer applications March Thru November. Fall clean ups, Irrigation Blowouts, Snow Removal, Dormant Pruning as needed Dec-Feb.
• Training for proper fertilization and weed control techniques. Paid training on equipment such as a Z sprayer, push spreader and backpack sprayer and ATV vegetation control boom sprayer
• Safely handling, mixing and storing pesticides
• Loading fertilizer onto the truck with a forklift and driving out to job sites
• Possible training on plant Identification for Tree and Shrub Care Programs

What you need to succeed:

• 1-2 years of experience with fertilization equipment including sprayers and spreaders
• Must have or obtain a pesticide applicator license within one year of employment
• A positive attitude and the desire to show up and learn everyday in an outdoor environment.
• Experience with a forklift or willingness to learn
• Knowledge of mixing and storing lawn pesticides according to ODA and OSHA regulations through our on-site training
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
