ETL Test Architect
Location: Waltham, MA

Responsibilities:
- Test Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed Test Plans and Test Strategies specifically for ETL and Report testing.
- Create and maintain QA roadmaps, timelines, and comprehensive test plans for complex ETL pipelines.
- Define testing scope, objectives, and resource requirements for various ETL testing projects.
- ETL Testing Execution and Management:
- Lead and execute end-to-end ETL testing, including source to target data validation, transformation logic verification, performance testing, and data quality assurance.
- Utilize extensive hands-on experience in Informatica PowerCenter (versions 8.1, 9.5, 10.0) components including Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow Monitor, and Repository Manager for test preparation and execution.
- Develop and implement robust test automation frameworks and scripts for ETL process validations.
- Validate Rule-based profiles based on detailed business requirements and specifications.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Effectively manage and lead both onsite and offshore test teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate with business analysts, data engineers, and development teams to understand data requirements and ETL processes.
- Coordinate with business teams to obtain necessary data, access, and required signoffs throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Guide the team in preparing high-quality Testcase designing, Validation documents, and comprehensive closure documents.
- Quality Assurance and Reporting:
- Conduct thorough reviewing of test validation documents and provide formal Test Signoff, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Organize and facilitate effective Defect Triage meetings, clearly communicating testing results, identified defects, and their impact to Business, development teams, and stakeholders.
- Actively participate in defect prioritization and resolution processes.
- Provide regular and comprehensive testing status reports to project stakeholders.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in ETL testing.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in Informatica 8.1/9.5/10.0 (Power Center), including proficiency in Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow Monitor, and Repository Manager.
- Proven experience in developing detailed Test plans and Test strategies for ETL and Report testing.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining QA roadmaps, timelines, and test plans for ETL pipelines.
- Strong experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks and scripts for ETL process validations.
- Significant experience in handling onsite / offshore test teams, including task delegation, performance management, and team motivation.
- Proven ability in reviewing test validation documents and providing formal Test Signoff.
- Experience in validating Rule-based profiles based on business requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to organize and lead Defect Triage meetings and successfully communicate testing results.
- Experience in coordinating with business teams and obtaining required signoffs.
- Strong ability to guide the team to prepare Testcase designing, Validation documents, and closure documents.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data quality principles.
- Experience with various database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and testing within agile environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica Cloud, Talend).
- Experience with reporting and BI testing (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with performance testing tools for ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality tools and processes.
- Relevant certifications in testing or data warehousing.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
