Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain COBOL programs and JCL scripts.
- Work with DB2 to create and optimize SQL queries and database structures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe application issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation for code and processes.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with COBOL, DB2, and JCL.
- Knowledge of z/OS and mainframe environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Responsibilities:
Design, code, test, and debug mainframe software applications.
Collaborate with project managers and business analysts to understand and analyze project requirements.
Create and modify mainframe applications using programming languages like COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
Perform performance tuning of mainframe systems and applications.
Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures for mainframe systems.
Maintain documentation of system modifications and developments.
Provide support and maintenance for existing mainframe applications.
Conduct system analysis to detect issues and ensure optimal performance.
Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
Train and assist less experienced team members or users.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with IBM On Demand, JCL, DB2 Strong programming skills in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
Experience with mainframe tools and utilities.
Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
