Job Description

Vlantis Law, LLC - a Chicago Plaintiff’s Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation firm - is looking add 2L or 3L who is interested in a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on people's lives , while learning to eventually become a litigator.

Responsibilities :

1.       Advocate for clients who have suffered personal injuries due to negligence or Work Accidents;

2.       Must be a Strong Legal Researcher / Writer;

3.       Collaborate with a team of attorneys and other support staff;

4.       Attention to Detail is a Must;

5.       Self-Starter and Self Directed (Out of the Box Thinker); and

6.       Be able to read, digest, or research medical terminology, and legal concepts.

7.       Work in a high stakes environment going up against some of the best Defense lawyers in the State.

Some of the things a candidate will be exposed to :

Pre-litigation : Work with our medical management team and case managers to

manage caseload from inception to resolution; Responsible for drafting / reviewing demands, liens, correspondence.

Litigation :

  • Draft Pleadings;
  • Issue Discovery;
  • Research, Write, and Respond to Motions; and
  • Prepare and strategize with attorneys for depositions, hearings, and trials.

Workers’ Compensation

  • Draft Pleadings;
  • Issue Discovery;
  • Research, Write, and Respond to Motions;
  • Prepare and strategize with attorneys for arbitration and commission hearings;
  • Appeal Brief Writing.
  • Requirements :

  • 2L or 3L. (Preference will be given to 3Ls who may stay on as attorneys).
  • Be able to commit to 20 hours a week (minimum).
  • Strong research and writing skills (Writing sample(s) must be provided).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Professionalism and prioritization of client customer service and representation.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently.
  • Must possess excellent organization skills and be able to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Ability to think on their feet, analyze, and research argument points.
  • Technology :

  • Proficient in : Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Electronic Filing, Online research, Adobe, Zoom, etc.

    Pay Starts at $25.00 / hour.
