Job Summary
Role Summary:
Maintenance, trouble shooting, new installation, and repair of the instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Job Duties
- Knowledge of DCS system, Delta V system, and Calibration equipment (Hart Communicator). Instrumentation installation of level controls, flow meters, flow valves, assist with design and placement of new instrumentation install. Trouble shooting flow meters, levels, DCS system, and control valves.
- Installation and troubleshooting of electrical controls, motors, switch gear, and conduit.
- Inspects wiring and equipment for conformance to company specifications or local electrical codes.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Suggests changes in working schedules/conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints and Work Orders.
- Meets with supervisors to coordinate activities with other individual departments.
- Ensures constant communication with other departments to maintain equipment consistency and repeatability, resulting in producing a quality product.
- Perform periodic walk through of work area to ensure all instruments are calibrated and working correctly
- Troubleshoot problem areas to determine root cause and devise corrective action plan.
- Understanding and knowledge of Safety Procedures.
- Certificate from a college or trade school;
- five to ten years or more related experience and/or training.
- Experience in Instrument/Electrical in a chemical process plant.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions and procedures.
- Ability to receive detailed instructions by telephone and/or hand held radio.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
