The Regional CDL Driver will be responsible for hauling Non-Hazardous waste and equipment across multiple states. This position will be responsible for completing regional overnight runs. This also includes the need to support operations during high demand times to ensure the success of the business.
Responsibilities
- Drive and operate tankers on regional, out of town runs.
- Perform variety of physically demanding tasks related to management/movements of non-hazardous waste including but not limited to manually open pump lids, attach pump hoses, lifting and moving drums.
- 100% adherence to all safety procedures and policies.
- Daily loading, unloading, and safely transporting non-hazardous materials and equipment.
- Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment while maintaining appearance of company equipment to meet company standards.
- Interfacing and providing excellent customer service for our clients at the point of delivery.
- Verify containers are properly marked and labeled. Accurately complete, review, and sign various forms such as driver logs, service and work orders, manifest and bills of lading.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/ or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Reporting vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after pickups.
- Efficiently able to operate manual transmission (no automatic restriction).
- Willing to do regional runs during the week, home on weekends only.
- Ability to safely navigate varying truck routes, multi-state geography and diverse customer sites.
- Ability to make minor repairs is a plus (light bulbs, fuses, minor air leaks).
- Ability to identify and report equipment malfunction or damage.
- Maintain required training, certificates, and licenses to perform job functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Class B or A drivers' license with tanker endorsements.
- Minimum 1 year driving experience with tankers.
- CDL Driver must have good driving history and pass background check.
- CDL Driver must pass DOT drug screen, physical, and road test.
- Working knowing of DOT regulations and requirements
- Ability to travel 100% Monday through Friday.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
- Ability to crawl, stand, bend, stoop, kneel and reach
- Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing
- Ability to sit/drive for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds several times a day
