VLS Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products.
Job Summary:
The Tank Washer will perform duties in a safe manner, to include, but not limited to various tank cleanings as determined from work orders. In addition, Tank Washer, will report work completed to Project Manager so they could update Work Orders and submit for billing. The purpose of this position is to become proficient and knowledgeable in the tank washer responsibilities and gain the skills needed to advance to the next level.
Job Duties:
- Removes residual cargo and cleaning the tanks.
- Utilize hand tools such as brushes or shovels to effectively clean the tanks.
- Operate a high-pressure washing system to clean inside of tanks.
- Inspect equipment before operating, including pumps, hoses and nozzles.
- Performs job duties to complete work in accordance with client requirements and Company policies, practices and procedures. Follows company employee policies.
- Utilize proper PPE while cleaning tanks
- Individual will prepare/check equipment, enter and exit tanks, use cleaning equipment.
- Build expertise in specialty vacuum equipment, confined space entry and varying degrees of manual use hand tools
- Understands and complies with all safety policies and supports continuing awareness for safety
- Other duties as assigned to assist the marine division.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in Confined Space Entries
- Flexible Availability if needed

- 18 years of age or older
- 2 years of barge cleaning experience
- High Attention to detail
