Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a pivotal role in the recruitment and selection process, focusing on sourcing and vetting candidates who align with our company’s culture and values. As we aim to grow our operations teams over the next twelve months and beyond, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to lead our recruitment efforts and contribute to the ongoing training, development, and successful onboarding of new employees.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will support workforce development initiatives, collaborating with local, state, and educational institutions to build a long-term pipeline of skilled talent for our growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the vegetation management industry, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing methods including job boards, social media, networking events, and industry connections to identify potential candidates.
- Candidate Vetting: Screen resumes and conduct interviews to assess candidate qualifications, skills, and cultural fit. Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for hiring managers.
- Collaboration with HR: Work closely with the HR team to understand staffing needs and maintain an open line of communication regarding candidate progress.
- Workforce Development Initiatives: Collaborate with local and state educational institutions, technical colleges, and other organizations to develop programs that create a robust pipeline of candidates for current and future positions at VM West.
- Onboarding and Training Support: Assist in the development and implementation of onboarding programs and training initiatives to ensure new hires are integrated effectively into the organization.
- Process Improvement: Analyze recruitment metrics to continuously improve sourcing, selection, and onboarding processes. Gather feedback from hiring managers and new employees to refine strategies.
- Employer Branding: Act as a brand ambassador for VM West, promoting our values and culture to potential candidates and enhancing our reputation in the industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in staffing or HR roles within the vegetation management or related industries.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the recruitment process, with a strong understanding of candidate evaluation and selection techniques.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the vegetation management industry, including relevant trends, challenges, and regulations, which can inform effective recruitment strategies.
- Networking Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including candidates, hiring managers, educational institutions, and industry organizations.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing recruitment data and metrics to make data-driven decisions and improve hiring processes continuously.
- Cultural Awareness: A strong sense of cultural competency to ensure that recruitment practices are appropriate and that candidates from diverse backgrounds feel welcomed.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey the company’s culture and values to candidates and to produce clear documentation and reports.
- Negotiation Skills: Capability to negotiate job offers and salary packages that align with company policies while being attractive to candidates.

Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
