Are you looking to join a fast-growing company? Are you an experienced financial leader with MSO / private equity healthcare experience? If so, this may be the role for you! We are recruiting a chief financial officer for Optimal Healthcare Partners, a best-in-class women’s health, aesthetics, and wellness platform, to help build and play a crucial role in the strategic planning and management of the platform. This role oversees all financial activities and builds out controls and processes, ensuring the financial health of the organization and providing leadership in financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, and experience in a high-growth MSO / private equity environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related degree required; CPA and / or MBA highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years of managerial and accounting experience within a private equity / MSO healthcare model required.
  • Experience with multisite accounting / reporting and consolidation of financial statements.
  • Experience with acquisitions, integrations, and physician practice management roll-ups.
  • Immediate past employment in at least one of the following positions : Controller, Director of Finance, CFO.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to build out, inspire, motivate, and develop team members while holding them accountable.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to present complex materials in a manner that is easily understood.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), ideally in a medical industry setting.
  • Skilled working with banks, private equity, covenants, insurance & cash pay, cash forecasting, and audits.
  • Ability to assess, build out, and implement processes.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and managing budgets.
  • Tech savvy; fluency in accounting software.
  • Familiarity with professional corporations, productivity reporting, accounts receivable management, provider contracting issues, doctor compensation methodology, human resource regulations, and general state / federal regulations impacting medical practices and small businesses (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, FWA, etc.).
  • Experience in negotiating general business contracts including insurance, vendor supply contracts, and loan / lease terms.
  • Ability to develop an overall financial risk management plan including general liability insurance.
  • Proven ability to implement safeguards to minimize threats of theft and embezzlement.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Builds corporate level of platform from scratch in collaboration with Casla Partners (selecting and implementing ERP / accounting system, payroll vendor, procurement, other tech solutions, auditor, etc.).
  • Develops and implements financial strategies to support the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Analyzes financial performance, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making.
  • Thoroughly understands, reviews, controls, and audits the accounting and computer systems as they relate to financial and revenue cycle management / reporting.
  • Ensures that proper accounting controls are in place.
  • Oversees all bookkeeping and financial reporting functions, including internal bookkeeping, external accountant, practice accountants, and bookkeepers.
  • Monitors the billing and collection process to facilitate a healthy turnover and maximum collections of accounts receivable.
  • Oversees cash flow planning and ensures availability of funds as needed.
  • Coordinates with outside accounting resources as necessary to manage tax liabilities and impacts.
  • Provides validation of accurate reporting, reconciliation of all accounts, and compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Analyzes the cost / benefit and feasibility of opportunities for the practice.
  • Supports mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • With direction from the MSO, negotiates and maintains all insurance coverage for the practices and organization.
  • Coordinates all activities with the management team to maximize efficiencies of resources in the practice.
  • Manages direct reports and development of team.
  • Works with other teams as needed on human resource-related issues (metrics, compliance, etc.).
