JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in architecting, developing, and optimizing VMG Health's core data ecosystem.
This role will be instrumental in designing scalable data architecture, driving innovation within a Microsoft Azure environment, and leading technical initiatives that enhance our data capabilities.
As the technical leader of our data ecosystem, you will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to support data operations, integrations, and ongoing platform enhancements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within a Microsoft Azure environment (SQL, Power BI, Synapse, Data Factory, etc.) and a deep understanding of data engineering best practices, including ETL, monitoring, and alerting.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Data Architecture & Development - Design and implement scalable data architecture within the Microsoft Azure environment, ensuring the platform’s robustness, scalability, and efficiency.
- Technical Leadership - Serve as the technical leader for VMG Health’s data ecosystem, guiding data engineering best practices, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Data Operations - Oversee day-to-day data operations, including data integrations, ETL processes, monitoring, and alerting to ensure seamless performance and uptime.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization - Identify and resolve data-related issues and performance bottlenecks, implementing optimizations to improve the reliability and performance of the data platform.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on data needs, platform enhancements, and project requirements.
- Technical Documentation - Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for architecture, data flows, processes, and integrations to ensure transparency and continuity.
- Data Innovation & Adoption - Drive the adoption of new data technologies and tools, exploring innovative ways to leverage data for business intelligence, analytics, and operational improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge & Skills:
- Technical Expertise-Proficiency in Microsoft Azure data services, including SQL, Power BI, Synapse, and Data Factory, along with deep knowledge of data architecture principles, ETL design, and integration processes.
- Experience with data analysis/analytics and tooling
- Experience of migrating assets to the cloud; AWS, GC, Azure etc.
- Data Operations & Monitoring-Experience with data operations, troubleshooting, and monitoring tools to ensure platform reliability and availability.
- Leadership & Collaboration-Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across technical and business stakeholders.
- Problem Solving-Skilled in identifying and resolving technical challenges, with a focus on proactive improvements and optimization.
- Experience in healthcare, professional services or finance strongly preferred
Required Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related discipline
Experience:
- 7 years of hands-on experience
License/Certifications:
- Relevant certifications preferred; Azure, AWS, GC etc.
