The Role:
The Director of PR & Communications will lead the crafting and tracking of clients’ public attitudes, and managing crisis communications. You will champion the development of 360˚ comprehensive strategic communication plans, marketing initiatives, influencer marketing programs and strategic partnership & collaborations designed to elevate our clients’ brand perception, increase clients’ revenues, and increase brand awareness and engagement. Following the guidance and lead of our executive team and head strategist, your mission is to elevate all, with strategy-driven and visually-rich solutions, with an integrated marketing, social media, and pr plan. You will be responsible for comprehending a brief, establishing KPIs, outlining objectives, and developing the strategies required to obtain clients’ goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive PR strategies that align with clients' marketing objectives, including detailed plans for media relations, digital campaigns, segment-focused initiatives, and essential PR efforts.
- Build and oversee a network of influencers across micro, mid-tier, macro, and celebrity levels for short-term and long-term collaborations. Strategically identify and engage new talent for partnerships while nurturing existing influencer relationships to expand reach and market share. Maintain consistent communication with influencers and their management.
- Enhance clients' influencer seeding strategies, including  managing the fulfillment product needs.
- Oversee paid influencer partnerships by negotiating contracts, and ensuring briefs and deliverables are strategically aligned and KPIs achieved.
- Organize and execute events, covering event planning, location management, guest lists curation, production, and event content capture agreements.
- Stay informed about trends in pop culture, social media, influencer marketing, emerging technologies, and updates on social media platforms.
- Establish and track robust KPIs for communication campaigns, using analytical tools to assess performance. Share insights and reports regularly with internal teams.
- Monitor budgets, analyze ROI, and refine strategies as needed.
- Develop creative publicity initiatives to enhance awareness and elevate clients’ brand perceptions.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for media coverage through well-researched and targeted editorial pitches, focusing on high visibility.
- Cultivate strong relationships with media professionals to support PR objectives, including crafting and distributing press releases, media kits, and other related materials.
- Lead crisis communication efforts, collaborating with both agency and clients’ internal communication teams.
- Ensure brand consistency by contributing to creative direction for promotional materials, digital content, social-first campaigns, press releases, and blog posts to align with premium brand positioning and strategic goals.
- Oversee clients' digital and social media initiatives, managing agency efforts and internal teams.
- Review and refine all marketing materials, such as collateral, direct mail, advertisements, and printed promotional content.
- Act as a key advisor for reputation management, monitoring public sentiment, highlighting potential risks, crafting messaging strategies, and managing crisis communications.
- Lead the PR and Communications team to ensure smooth operations and strategic alignment.
- Undertake additional projects as directed by the Lead Strategists and Marketing Directors.
Must have:Â
- 6 years of experience in public relations
- A university degree in journalism or communications or equivalent experience in public relations, marketing or journalism
- Strong and effective interpersonal skills
- Proven relationships with media, community, and business contacts that have delivered demonstrable results, and the personality to maximize these contacts
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a strong sense of quality, and a creative mindset
- A self-starter that can multi-task and prioritize
- Proficiency in leveraging social media networks and related monitoring tools
- The ability to create newsworthy events, develop story ideas, and follow through with pitch leads
