Education Requirements:
- RN license to practice in the state of Wisconsin.
- Experience: One year of infection prevention experience within a hospital or nursing home. Knowledge of nursing home rules and regulations.
- Must have the ability to understand and comply with geriatric and restorative nursing principles along with knowledge of State and Federal Regulations/Guidelines affecting long term care including OBRA.
- Must have knowledge of HFS 132.
Job Responsibility Overview:
- Infection Control Monitoring and Compliance: Collects, analyzes, and maintains infection data for residents and employees, ensures compliance with CDC guidelines, and works with the Health Department during outbreaks. Monitors infection control practices, tracks statistics, and performs periodic audits.
- Policy Development and Education: Collaborates with the DoN to develop infection control policies and procedures, provides education on infection control, and maintains membership in active infection control organizations such as APIC.
- Quality Assurance and Staff Support: Conducts facility walk-throughs to evaluate care quality, participates in clinical assessments of new residents, and helps managers ensure adherence to departmental policies. Supports staff through continuous education and monitoring standards of care.
- Administrative and Leadership Duties: Assists with admissions, assessments and resident care; participates in budget development, departmental meetings, and facility committees; provides leadership to the nursing department, and advocates for both residents and staff.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Follows all safety, infection control, and hazardous material policies to ensure the safety of residents and staff. Engages in activities that support the facility’s mission and upholds its policies, procedures, and philosophy.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
