VMR Strategic Solutions is seeking a Test Lab System Administrator (Level II) to support our client. This position will be responsible for monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance levels. The administrator will ensure workstation / server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. The administrator will also confirm data / media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
Duties
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software.
- Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain Windows system servers, web servers and database servers in support of business processing requirements
- Install, configure, and maintain dedicated workstations (OS, software, applications).
- Perform account and access management for multiple servers, specified applications and databases.
- Schedule and perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages in accordance with Program Management Office guidelines and release announcements.
- Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensure workstation / server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Ensure data / media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
- Develop and maintain test facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain and support physical and virtual servers using Windows operating system and applications to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Perform router and switch configuration and maintenance.
