OverviewManages and oversees the daily operations of Corporate Volunteer Services. Optimizes gifts in kind donations from individuals and corporations; leads the administration of the Volunteer Council Benefit Fund. Performs administrative duties and other related functions as assigned. Works under general supervision.

What You Will Do
Manages, oversees, plans and organizes VNS Health's volunteer activities and leads the administrative intern program. Coordinates the daily activities and schedules for the 70th Street office and follows up to ensure assignments, projects and tasks are progressing on a timely basis. Manages on site volunteers and oversees 70 other various volunteer roles located at other sites.
Oversees all recruitment / selection activities, including posting volunteer openings on websites / local newspapers, screening / interviewing candidates, working with department managers to ensure effective training and development / support of volunteers / interns, following-up with staff for feedback on performance, terminating Volunteers when necessary, and providing oversight of all special events, volunteer assignments and activities.
Creates correspondences including reports, letters and minutes, answers routine correspondence and drafts responses to selected correspondence. Generates / updates volunteer demographic reports and other related material as assigned. Photocopies, collates and distributes data / reports as needed.
Maintains relationships with external constituencies in sourcing volunteer resources and / or helping to cultivate donors. Interacts with various constituents including internal staff as well as with external donors / volunteers and visitors.
Processes bills / invoices through preparation of check requests, maintenance of expense ledger and follow-up on payments. Calculates / reconciles cash and checks from volunteer fundraising events to ensure accuracy and compliance with department policies / guidelines.
Manages the Volunteer Council Benefit Fund (VCBF). Reviews applications for assistance and follows-up with clinicians requesting assistance to develop applications and execute on requests. Collaborates with volunteer leadership as needed.
Develops, maintains and updates department databases and filing system using various computer programs. Enters volunteer demographics and quantifying volunteer service hours.
Prepares agendas and materials for meetings, reviews correspondence to be sent and provides other general support to the President of the Volunteer Council.
Oversees supply deliveries and lifts / carries packages up to 10 lbs that are being delivered for various volunteer projects and donations.
Orders, maintains and monitors inventory of department supplies and equipment.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Humanities, Education, Sociology, Psychology or the equivalent Required
Work Experience :
Minimum of three years of office administration / management related experience Required
Proficiency in personal computers including, Adobe, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Power Point Required
Familiarity with Raisers Edge software and Workday Preferred
Demonstrated attention to detail, proactive and follow-up skills Required
Effective oral / written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently Required
