Café VNTG is a unique and charming cafe nestled within a beautifully curated vintage furniture store. We offer a delightful selection of high-quality coffee, artisanal teas, and light bites, all served in a beautifully styled, nostalgic atmosphere. We are a new neighborhood coffee destination, and are striving to create a warm and inviting space where customers can enjoy outstanding beverages while browsing our unique collection of vintage finds, and experience some of the other creative activities going on at VNTG.

Job Summary:

We are seeking passionate and reliable Barista/Cashiers to join our team and contribute to the special experience we offer at Café VNTG. You will be responsible for crafting quality beverages, providing friendly and efficient customer service, and ensuring the cafe operates smoothly within our vintage setting. This role requires a strong work ethic, a love for quality coffee and tea, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Beverage Preparation:
• Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee and tea beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, and specialty teas, to the highest standards.
• Dial in espresso and maintain consistent beverage quality.
• Follow recipes and procedures accurately.
• Demonstrate knowledge of different coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
• Customer Service:
• Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude within the unique setting of the vintage store.
• Take orders accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash and card transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the customer's experience within the combined cafe and vintage store environment.
• Cashier Duties:
• Operate the POS system.
• Process transactions accurately and handle cash drawer responsibilities.
• Maintain a clean and organized cashier station.
• Cafe Operations:
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the cafe area complements the overall aesthetic of the vintage store.
• Restock supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels.
• Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines.
• Assist with light food preparation and serving as needed.
• Open and close the store according to store policy.
• Teamwork:
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations within the context of the larger vintage store.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
• Be willing to assist in other areas of the cafe as needed.

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in and passion for quality coffee.
• Previous barista and/or cashier experience required. We are willing to train the right candidate in any areas where knowledge may be more limited.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work early morning shifts, starting at 6:00 AM is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain).
• An appreciation for vintage design and atmosphere is a plus.
