SUMMARY

Ensures the stable operation and protection of critical information, systems, and assets. Designs, builds, and implements new hardware and software solutions. Assists in the development of an overall IT strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory (AD), SCCM, and patch management.
• Manage and optimize VMware vSphere environments, Storage Area Networks (SANs), and bare-metal hardware for servers.
• Manage a case load in a ticketing system, including escalations from Helpdesk and other Jr staff.
• Maintain Storage Area Networks (SANs), including provisioning, performance monitoring, and ensuring data security in line with best practices.
• Support Linux (Debian) servers and manage Docker containers for application deployment.
• Configure and maintain networking infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and switches (Fortinet preferred).
• Implement security best practices, manage user access, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, capacity, and availability across infrastructure components.
• Lead backup and disaster recovery operations, ensuring business continuity.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with technical support and best practices.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support and emergency resolution.
• Perform regular backup and disaster recovery operations, ensuring business continuity in case of failure.
• Research, recommend, and implement new technology solutions that align with business goals.
• Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining a high standard of safety practices.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent (10 years of experience).
• 5 years of experience in systems administration, managing enterprise IT infrastructure (manufacturing experience preferred).
• Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and SCCM.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, including VM provisioning, clustering, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Linux administration (Debian preferred), including command-line use and scripting.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage management, including SANs.
• Familiarity with Docker for containerization and deployment.
• Networking experience, including firewalls, VLANs, routing, VPNs (Fortinet preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, and firmware update skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Wasabi, Veeam).
• Experience with domain controllers, DNS, and print server administration.
