POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Social Work Supervisor will ensure the clinical team will provide appropriate services to families in the VIP Community Services shelter system under the director of Department of Homeless Services.
The Social Work Supervisor must ensure the team is able to independently assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of clients, to formulate and implement a treatment plan, identifying the client’s problems, strengths, weaknesses, coping skills and assistance needed.
The staff must have knowledge of community resources, how to make appropriate referrals to community and other governmental agencies for services, and the ability to coordinate services.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
• Supervise a team to ensure clinical services are provided to all clients in accordance with program goals, targets and performance outcomes
• Provide training and support to staff and team members regarding psychoeducation, mental health assessments and other techniques (i.e., motivational interviewing).
• Serve as a liaison and develop linkage agreements with other community-based organizations and local mental health service providers, as necessary.
• Ensure the direct reporting staff completes all necessary documentations and referrals to providers as required
• Ensure all clients charting documentation are up-to-date and reflect services provided such as service plans, re-certifications and psychiatric assessments.
• Troubleshoot client and direct reporting staff program problems and make decisions in accordance with program policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders.
• Must be able to provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of clients and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and compliance with treatment.
• Must have knowledge and skill in the use of computer software applications for drafting documents, data management, and tracking.
• Provides crisis intervention and stabilization as needed. May require some after hours and or weekend follow-up to emergency situations.
• Maintain; review and sign off on all required documentation/reports and submits all in a timely manner.
• Identifies program needs and makes recommendations with program content. • Perform related tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• LCSW plus prior experience in substance use/mental health setting or social service setting
• Must have prior supervisory experience at least 2 years
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Must be capable and comfortable with crisis management.
• Computer proficiency with proficiency in Word, Excel and the ability to learn about new technologies and databases. Knowledge of CARES is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Bilingual Spanish Preferred
SALARY: $90,000.00
