VRSI is in partnership with QualityStaff, LLC. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of shipments, maintaining proper inventory records, and performing various warehouse duties. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to handle physical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping:
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are packed and labeled correctly.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to arrange for timely pick-up and delivery.
- Verify that the correct products and quantities are shipped according to customer orders.
- Complete shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs paperwork (if applicable).
- Ensure proper handling of fragile or hazardous materials according to safety standards.
- Receiving:
- Unload incoming shipments and verify that they match purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect shipments for damages and discrepancies and report issues to management.
- Record received items into the inventory management system, ensuring accurate stock levels.
- Organize and store received goods in the appropriate warehouse locations.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory and shipments, including tracking numbers, product quantities, and locations.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Assist with the organization, storage, and retrieval of inventory within the warehouse.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools to move products and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Perform regular stock checks and participate in physical inventory counts.
- Assist with order picking and packing for both shipping and internal use.
- Label and tag products as needed, ensuring proper categorization and placement.
- Ensure that all safety protocols, such as proper lifting techniques and equipment usage, are adhered to in the warehouse.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment.
- Inventory Management:
- Help track inventory levels, ensuring the correct quantities are on hand and stored properly.
- Communicate with purchasing and management teams regarding inventory shortages or overstocking issues.
- Support regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock records.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as customer service and purchasing, to resolve any shipping, receiving, or warehouse issues.
