Note: This position will include work for both Voces de la Frontera and our 501c4 sister organization Voces de la Frontera Action (VDLFA). Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1-Strategic Growth & Outreach


● Assist the Director of Civic Engagement to identify geographic opportunities for growth in civic engagement initiatives.

● Expand and strengthen the base of allies and community supporters in strategic districts.

● Identify, recruit, and engage allies, members, and partner organizations in strategic districts that support our mission and state campaigns, primarily restoring state driver cards for immigrants.


2-Advocacy & Lobbying Support


● Assist the Director of Civic Engagement in coordinating lobbying communications to state elected officials.

● Facilitate meetings between allies, Voces members, and elected representatives at the district level and during lobbying days at the State Capitol.


3-Education & Training


● Support the development of training materials and educational resources for allies and members for lobbying and organizing.

● Conduct training sessions and track progress on engagement efforts.


4-Coalition Building for Safe Roads


● Work with the Director to expand the coalition supporting the driver’s licenses for all campaign.

● Assist in preparing and facilitating coalition meetings, as well as take minutes.


5-Voter Mobilization & Advocacy


● Support the mobilization of the Voceros por el Voto Network for elections and campaigns.

● Assist in voter outreach campaigns and other civic engagement initiatives.


6-Community Engagement in Key Districts


● Collaborate with the Civic Engagement Director in Identifying allies and members in key districts to participate in local meetings with law enforcement, farmers, and other community leaders.

● Support our base in broader community efforts to educate and advocate for the driver’s license campaign, an end to family separations, and the termination of ICE collaboration programs at the local level.


Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities:


● Submit Timesheets: Ensure that timesheets are submitted on time according to the schedule provided by HR. Ensure timesheets reflect proper accounting of hours and expenses for c3 or c4 activities.

● Submit itemized receipts within the same month that the expense occurred.

● Mandatory Attendance: Attend mandatory meetings and events, including but not limited to all-staff meetings, May Day, the annual Gala, annual assembly, retreats, and other organizational events as required.

● Coordinate with supervisor for minimum of 3 days a week to be present at the office. Check-in for weekly goals and brief daily check-ins.

● Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:


● Experience in community organizing, advocacy, or civic engagement.

● Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage allies, community members, and partner organizations.

● Experience in grassroots organizing, voter mobilization, or coalition-building.

● Knowledge of immigration issues, workers’ rights, and social justice advocacy.

● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

● Experience coordinating meetings, trainings, and advocacy efforts.

● Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

● Commitment to Voces de la Frontera’s mission and values.


Preferred Qualifications:



● Previous experience working with immigrant and/or Latinx communities.

● Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).

● Experience in lobbying or policy advocacy efforts.

● Familiarity with Wisconsin’s political landscape and key stakeholders.

● Proficiency in digital organizing tools and social media advocacy.


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


This is a part time (20h/week) limited-term, three-month position, with the possibility of extending it if necessary, with a salary of $26,000
