Job Description:
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for leading and training supervisors across various functions in a meat processing facility. The key responsibilities include managing production documentation, ensuring proper yields, tracking time and attendance, addressing disciplinary issues, and motivating team members. The role also involves managing worker turnover and absenteeism, promoting safety, and maintaining high standards in safety, quality, workers' compensation, and team morale.
In addition, this role is accountable for managing bid movements and supporting team members' ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Building and maintaining a communicative, strong, and adaptable team is central to this position’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Leadership: Lead and train production supervisors. Manage departmental schedules, product rotations, CCP verification schedules, and oversee safety programs.
- Team Development: Foster a positive team culture, focusing on motivation, communication, and problem-solving. Encourage team members to meet high production and quality standards.
- Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure safety protocols are met, and promote safety across all operations. Verify compliance with safety and quality regulations.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate production documentation, including time and attendance tracking, turnover management, and production reporting.
- Adaptability: Ensure team members remain adaptable and flexible to dynamic shifts in production needs and other operational changes.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role in a production environment. Experience with HACCP principles and CCP monitoring preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to access all areas of the production floor and tolerate environmental conditions, with temperatures ranging from 28°F to 45°F. Ability to use fixed ladders and stairs.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
- Special Skills: Strong leadership abilities, problem-solving skills, and motivation for special projects.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the operations of production supervisors and related staff. Review team performance and develop strategies for improvement.
