Job Description:
We are seeking a Kafka Engineer with 6–10 years of experience to design, configure, build, and maintain a Multi-Platform Shared Enterprise Event Messaging Ecosystem on-premise and in the public cloud. You will work with cutting-edge technology to build new solutions and contribute to delivering a best-in-class consumer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Kafka capacity planning, installation, administration/platform management, and performance optimization of Kafka partitioning and Kafka brokers.
- Manage Kafka clusters, partitions, security, disaster recovery, data pipelines, and data replication.
- Build producer applications for Kafka and configure them in Confluent Kafka.
- Tune Kafka partitioning and optimize performance with Kafka brokers.
- Configure self-managed Kafka connectors.
- Deploy Confluent Kafka clusters, including installation, configuration, deployment, securing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Administer Confluent Kafka and optimize clusters using performance tuning at different levels (producer, broker, consumer).
- Monitor Kafka services, topics, and partitions to ensure optimal functionality.
- Set up monitoring alerts for multiple metrics.
- Design, support, and deploy mechanisms to enhance, refine, and deliver architecture vision.
- Analyze current IT environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions.
- Provide research and development activities for architecture.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to estimate provisions, develop implementation plans, and provide leadership as required.
- Provide lab and vendor support.
- Mentor junior staff by offering enterprise-wide technology guidance.
- Develop frameworks, standards, and reference materials for architecture and associated products.
- Maintain common services, repositories, and utility components for the enterprise.
- Deliver program and project-level data, application, and technology deliverables, including risk/opportunity assessments, modeling, and design-related services.
- Effectively communicate architecture to all organizational levels.
- Adhere to enterprise architecture strategies, principles, standards, policies, and procedures.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Expertise in Kafka, Confluent Kafka, and system integration.
- Strong understanding of Kafka cluster management, partitioning, security, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience with cloud-based Kafka solutions and performance tuning.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
