This individual will be responsible for the design, development, test, and maintenance of mechanical systems at voestalpine SIGNALING USA located in Loveland, Colorado. voestalpine Signaling USA develops high-end monitoring equipment for the railroad industry and is part of a large international group headquartered in Austria. Candidate must be able to work effectively in an agile team environment. Candidate must also be able to coordinate with other team members, domestic and international, as well as work unsupervised to accomplish goals on schedule and within budget. This is an in-office, salaried position and after hours’ work is sometimes required. Some domestic and international travel is also required.

Responsibilities include :

• Design, develop, build, test and maintain complex mechanical systems for railroad and possibly other industrial applications.
• Conduct literature reviews and research on mechanical and electronic systems.
• Conduct vendor and manufacturer searches for system components and parts.
• Design and manufacture prototypes for testing and research.
• Collect and analyze data from system tests and compile detailed reports and conclusions based on the results.
• Support other company departments in producing drawings and documentation on various products.
• Support field crews in installing and maintaining field systems when required.
• Provide technical documentation, drawing packages and quality inspections for parts manufactured by third party machines shops.
• Participate in status meetings, planning meetings, budget meetings, budget creation and budget tracking activities.
• Interface with customers and clients as required to resolve issues and identify problems.
• Interface with other companies in the voestalpine group and support joint development projects when required.
