What You’ll Do
As a Bankruptcy & Collections Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys to support the firm’s bankruptcy and collections practices. Key responsibilities include:
• Judgment Enforcement: Prepare post-judgment discovery, calculate judgment debts, and manage garnishment proceedings, levies, and executions.
• Document Preparation: Draft and file legal documents, including settlement agreements, construction liens, and foreclosure materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Foreclosure Support: Assist with foreclosure preparation and manage timelines to meet critical deadlines.
• Case Management: Maintain organized case files (physical and electronic) to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
• Client Communication: Professionally communicate with clients, providing updates and maintaining confidentiality.
• Attorney Collaboration: Work with attorneys to prepare for hearings, streamline workflows, and meet case deadlines.
• Additional Support: Perform administrative and legal tasks as needed to support the team and ensure efficient case management.

What You Bring
Education:
• Completion of a Paralegal Certificate program approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), or a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field.
• Certification from a national paralegal organization, with continuing legal education, is a plus.
Experience:
• At least two years of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role, with preference for bankruptcy, collections, or litigation experience.
• Familiarity with court rules, legal documents, and procedures specific to bankruptcy and collections is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Orion, NetDocs, and legal research platforms like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
