About the Role
At Vogel Law Firm, our Bankruptcy & Collections Paralegal plays a vital role in supporting attorneys with case management, document preparation, and client communication. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives on solving problems, managing priorities, and delivering high-quality work in a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do
As a Bankruptcy & Collections Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys to support the firm’s bankruptcy and collections practices. Key responsibilities include:
Judgment Enforcement: Prepare post-judgment discovery, calculate judgment debts, and manage garnishment proceedings, levies, and executions.
Document Preparation: Draft and file legal documents, including settlement agreements, construction liens, and foreclosure materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Foreclosure Support: Assist with foreclosure preparation and manage timelines to meet critical deadlines.
Case Management: Maintain organized case files (physical and electronic) to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
Client Communication: Professionally communicate with clients, providing updates and maintaining confidentiality.
Attorney Collaboration: Work with attorneys to prepare for hearings, streamline workflows, and meet case deadlines.
Additional Support: Perform administrative and legal tasks as needed to support the team and ensure efficient case management.

What You Bring
Education:
• Completion of a Paralegal Certificate program approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), or a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field.
• Certification from a national paralegal organization, with continuing legal education, is a plus.

Experience:
• At least two years of experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role, with preference for bankruptcy, collections, or litigation experience.
• Familiarity with court rules, legal documents, and procedures specific to bankruptcy and collections is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies:
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess challenges and implement effective solutions.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Orion, NetDocs, and legal research platforms like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
Organized & Detail-Oriented: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with accuracy.
Collaborative Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues.
Professional Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for drafting documents and providing updates.
Self-Starter: Proactive and capable of working independently without constant supervision.

Physical & Work Environment
Office Environment: Standard office setting with occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs.) and filing from shelves up to 8 feet high.
Work Flexibility: Primarily in-office with occasional remote work flexibility on a case-by-case basis.
