The successful candidate will possess advanced analytical and Excel skills to help maintain a robust supply chain by supporting strategic purchasing supply chain decisions, optimizing inventory, monitoring supplier performance, and maintaining the data to identify trends, potential bottlenecks, and process improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively manage supplier relationships to optimize and create a lean supply chain with a focus on cost reduction, sustainability goals, and mutually beneficial long-term agreements.
- Create and execute sourcing strategy, securing supplier contracts and agreements through collaboration.
- Establish and direct a cost reduction program while maintaining quality and service.
- Develop a supplier management program including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives.
- Plan raw materials and purchased component requirements based on usage and current demand.
- Analyze purchases, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories and direct suppliers and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Collaborate with all other departments and leadership to ensure material and supply needs are met on time.
- Secure and evaluate quotes and negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing and contract terms.
- Create and track Purchase Orders for materials, supplies, services, tools, etc.
- Maintain data that affects the company’s operating system functionality such as lead-time, reorder points, safety stock, etc.
- Cooperate with Receiving and Accounts Payable departments and assist with purchase dispute resolution.
- Create and/or update internal procedures, work instructions, and formats as needed.
- Participate in site leadership activities including safety, continuous improvement and cost saving projects.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field.
- 5 years of strategic purchasing and supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Strong action orientation and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
- Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete, and concise written communications and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel, a must. Previous experience using an MRP/ERP system preferred.
- Strong collaborator and team player, able to work with and through others to achieve business objectives.
