About Vogue College of Fashion and Vogue Summer School 

Vogue Summer School invites high school students who are curious and passionate about the world of fashion to experience it first-hand in the heart of New York City—one of the most important fashion capitals in the world. Students will explore a range of topics shaping the industry today and can choose from specialized courses in fashion business, fashion styling, and fashion media.  

The program, which consists of four 2-week terms across June and July, will provide students with direct access to fashion-world professionals, and faculty will host daily live sessions. Faculty-guided tours of notable industry sites in NYC will bring a firsthand experience of the fashion world. All courses are taught by fashion industry experts in collaboration with teaching professionals. 

Under the direction of the Program Manager, Pre-College Academics, the Instructional Coordinator (IC) is a seasonal team member who is responsible for supporting and mentoring Faculty. This position is also responsible for gathering and analyzing on-the-ground data that will help inform Faculty-related decision-making from School administration and ensure that students are receiving high-quality instruction.  

The IC oversees day-to-day management and supervision for all levels of the Faculty members to ensure the successful planning and administration of School academics, with a particular emphasis on excellence of instruction. This person will also ensure that program policies are being followed, resolve Faculty challenges and make recommendations for enhancement.  

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Work closely with the Program Manager, Pre-College Academics to ensure that Faculty deliver high-quality, rigorous academic content.  
  • Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of Faculty, serving as the face of the Academics Department and directly supervising Faculty members.  
  • Create on-the-ground Faculty support mechanisms, including trainings, meetings, one-on-ones, reviews, check-ins and in-person and online feedback.  
  • Analyze data to improve excellence of instruction.  
  • Provide real-time solutions to Faculty challenges (e.g. interpersonal relationships, pedagogical needs).   
  • Review and oversee implementation of trainings. (e.g. observation tool)  

  

The IC will generally work Monday-Friday from late May-July between the hours of 7:30am and 5:00pm, although the schedule may vary.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to communicate directly, concisely and/or diplomatically as required, knowing how, when and what to communicate.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to anticipate, improvise and adapt for optimal resolutions.

  • Gather, interpret and synthesize information to communicate to Faculty, staff and Program Manager in order to maintain the highest academic rigor and program experience.  
  • Support and embrace diversity and inclusion practices.  
  • Maintain attention to detail, adhering to School content and style standards.  

  

Education, Work Experience and/or Licensure  

  • 5 years of professional experience working in K-12 education and/or Human Resources/Capital in education.   
  • Experience working with subject matter experts or non-traditional teachers is a must; previous experience working in the fashion industry is a plus.  
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.  

  

Three references are required.  

  

Language Skills   

While no special language skills are required for the position, applicants should be capable of upholding the highest standards of written and spoken English.  

 

Dates     

The IC will staff four Vogue Summer School terms M-F, which run from June 9 - July 31. This position will have general hours sometime between 7:30am-5pm but may require some additional work in the evenings.

Salary   

$3,250/term, for a total compensation of $13000 for the program. Instructional Coordinators are engaged as an independent contractor.
