Position Overview
The Director of Public Policy and Health Equity will lead a team of 20 emerging student leaders across college campuses nationwide, driving strategic initiatives that promote health equity and meaningful social impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide weekly mentorship and coaching to 20 student leaders, including:
- One individual coaching session per student each week
- Facilitation of team-wide meeting every Saturday afternoon
- Develop and implement public policy strategies that advance health equity
- Support and guide student leaders in developing impactful social action projects
- Create comprehensive mentorship and professional development programs
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of student-led initiatives
- Represent Voice Up in external stakeholder meetings and conferences
- Develop reporting mechanisms to track progress and impact of student leadership programs
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health equity, social justice, or student leadership development
- Demonstrated track record of mentoring and coaching emerging leaders
- Strong understanding of public policy landscape, particularly in health equity
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment
- Commitment to the principles of collaboration, humility, precision, patience, and empathy
