Job Overview
We are seeking a Survey Crew Leader to oversee and participate in field surveying activities for a variety of projects. These may include ALTA and boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction stakeouts, elevation certificates, and subdivision layouts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in surveying and the ability to lead a crew efficiently in a field environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in conducting field surveys using Total Station, RTK, and GPS data collection systems
- Perform ALTA, boundary, control, and topographic surveys
- Stake out construction sites, property lines, and subdivision layouts
- Ensure proper data collection and accurate field notes
- Collaborate with team members, clients, and the public in a professional manner
- Maintain survey equipment and adhere to safety protocols
- Follow company procedures and ensure projects are completed on time
- Be prepared to work outdoors and stand or walk for extended periods
- Availability to work overtime if assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in land surveying
- 1–2 years in a leadership role or supervising field crews
- Familiarity with Total Station, RTK, and GPS survey tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred:
- Experience with elevation certificates and subdivision layouts
- Ability to interpret survey plats, site plans, and construction drawings
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings in accordance with local and federal regulations (if applicable and legal in your location)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Pay: $22.72 - $23.72 per hour
