The Cambridge Center for Adult Education is currently seeking instructors for our Studio School program beginning in the winter term of 2025 (January-March).
Cambridge Center for Adult Education, located in Harvard Square, is one of the most wide-ranging and innovative communities of adult learners in the country. CCAE provides affordable education to all members of the community and is a welcoming place committed to experiential, lifelong, face-to-face learning that is distinguished by students and faculty of different racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, religious, and economic backgrounds. CCAE has been a home to curious people pursuing knowledge for 150 years and prides itself on being a place to grow, create and thrive. CCAE is currently offering both in-person and online classes.
Our classes vary in length, depending on the subject matter. Some classes are one-time sessions, others are held once a week for nine sessions. CCAE has four terms per year; each class is generally scheduled 2-4 times per year. The length and times of your classes will be decided upon by you and your program director.
We are looking to add Instructors to our specialized Studio School program. The Studio School at CCAE offers a group of coordinated classes that focuses on drawing and oil painting stressing the importance of spatial relationships and careful observation. Instructors should have a strong foundation of teaching observational drawing and painting specifically with live models.
Qualifications :
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of traditional drawing and painting concepts, as well as a strong portfolio displaying figurative work.
- BA or Equivalent Experience required.
- Punctual and reliable.
