Overview
Though 9 in 10 Latino young adults say that a college degree is important for success in life, fewer than 15% age 25 or older hold a bachelors degree. Voices College-Bound Language Academies exists to change that.
Voices is a public charter school network with a mission to prepare all students for the challenges of higher education through the context of an academically rigorous dual-immersion program. Every student, regardless of home language, graduates bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
Role Summary
The Director of Data and Compliance plays a critical role in developing and maintaining data dashboards that drive data-informed decision-making in a TK-8 dual immersion charter setting. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of data for federal, state, and local reporting, while also equipping school leaders and educators with the tools and training needed to effectively use data for instruction, compliance, and program development and improvement aligned with the CA MTSS and positive deviance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Data Dashboard Development & Management
- Design, build, and maintain interactive data dashboards that provide real-time insights on student performance, attendance, enrollment, assessment results, etc.
- Ensure dashboards are user-friendly aligned with the CA MTSS and positive deviance frameworks, and tailored to the needs of administrators, teachers, support staff, students, families, and educational partners.
- Integrate multiple data sources, including student information systems (SIS), assessment platforms, and compliance databases.
- Regularly update and refine dashboards to align with state and federal compliance requirements as well as school priorities.
Training & Data Literacy Support
- Provide training and ongoing support to administrators and teachers on effectively using data dashboards for decision-making.
- Foster a data-driven culture by helping educators interpret key data trends and apply insights to improve student learning outcomes.
- Develop user guides, workshops, and professional development sessions on best practices for data analysis and dashboard use.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure the accurate and timely submission of federal, state, and local reports, including CALPADS, Title I, EL reclassification, special education compliance, and other required reporting.
- Monitor education policies and regulations, ensuring all data-related practices align with legal and funding requirements.
- Collaborate with external agencies, auditors, and district/state officials to maintain compliance.
Assessment & Instructional Data Support
- Supervise and support our Assessment Manager to ensure compliance in implementation and coherence with data analysis.
- Support the administration and analysis of state and benchmark assessments (e.g., CAASPP, ELPAC, MAP).
- Use dashboards to highlight trends in student achievement and identify areas for intervention.
- Work with instructional leaders to align data insights with bilingual education goals and dual language program evaluation.
Technology & Systems Oversight
- Manage data integrations across various platforms (e.g., SIS, LMS, assessment tools).
- Ensure data security and privacy compliance under FERPA and other applicable laws.
- Optimize the use of technology tools for data visualization and reporting.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Support school administration as needed
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in data visualization and dashboard tools (e.g., Google Data Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Strong understanding of data-driven instruction and its impact on student achievement.
- Proficiency in student information systems (SIS), assessment platforms, and compliance databases.
- Excellent training, coaching, and presentation skills for non-technical users.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in education, data science, educational leadership, or a related field (Masters preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in education data management, analytics, or compliance.
- Experience in a dual immersion or bilingual education setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of California education compliance systems (e.g., CALPADS, Title I, EL Services, SPED).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities preferred
- Can work independently, have flexibility, and demonstrated success in building a dual-immersion curriculum
- Understanding of dual immersion instructional practices and school design and the unique characteristics of public charter schools is a plus
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Apps
Working Conditions:
- Regular requirement to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Occasional evening and or weekend work
- Occasional travel
- Willingness to be trained as needed
Prior To Employment: Once an offer has been extended, a candidate must meet the following criteria to receive a final agreement:

- Annual salary range $100,000- $150,000
