Overview
Though 9 in 10 Latino young adults say that a college degree is important for success in life, fewer than 15% age 25 or older hold a bachelor’s degree. Voices College-Bound Language Academies exists to change that.
Voices is a public charter school network with a mission to prepare all students for the challenges of higher education through the context of an academically rigorous dual-immersion program. Every student, regardless of home language, graduates bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
Role Summary
The Director of Dual-Immersion Instructional Leadership is responsible for leading and developing high-quality instruction across our dual immersion schools while overseeing a team dedicated to supporting Special Education, language acquisition, and expanded learning. This role ensures the implementation of research-based bilingual instructional practices, promotes academic excellence, and fosters biliteracy and multicultural competence. The Director will work closely with school leaders, teachers, and central office administrators to align curriculum, instruction and assessment, provide professional development, and drive continuous improvement in our culturally affirming dual immersion education classrooms.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership & Program Development
- Develop, implement, and evaluate high-quality instructional strategies aligned with dual immersion best practices and district/state standards.
- Support school leaders in setting and achieving instructional goals for bilingual education, biliteracy, and academic excellence.
- Ensure alignment of dual immersion curriculum, instructional materials, and assessment tools across all five schools.
- Collaborate to integrate family and community into the dual language instructional programs.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and support a team responsible for Special Education, language acquisition, and expanded learning to ensure comprehensive student success.
- Foster collaboration between dual immersion, Special Education, and expanded learning teams to promote inclusive and effective instructional practices.
- Provide guidance and professional development to team members, ensuring alignment with network goals and best practices.
Professional Development & Teacher Support
- Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities for teachers and administrators focused on bilingual pedagogy, language acquisition, learning acceleration, Special Education inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching.
- Mentor and coach dual immersion educators, coaches, and leads to strengthen instructional effectiveness and student engagement.
- Provide targeted support in lesson planning, assessment development, and differentiated instruction.
Program Monitoring & Assessment
- Analyze student performance data across dual immersion, Special Education, and expanded learning programs to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee program evaluation efforts to ensure dual immersion schools meet language proficiency, academic achievement, and special education compliance goals.
- Implement strategies to improve student outcomes and ensure equitable access to high-quality bilingual education and support services.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with principals, instructional coaches, other school site Leadership and central office leaders to ensure consistency and coherence in dual immersion instructional practices.
- Partner with families and community organizations to strengthen support for dual immersion education and expanded learning opportunities.
- Advocate for policies, resources, and program enhancements that support the success of multilingual learners and students with diverse needs.
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with authorizer staff.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Support school administration as needed
- Ensure relevant compliance elements are completed in a timely manner, etc.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Bilingual Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Special Education, or a related field required.
- Administrative credential preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bilingual/dual immersion education, with leadership, coaching, or program management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities preferred
- Can work independently, have flexibility, and demonstrated success in building a dual-immersion curriculum
- Understanding of dual immersion instructional practices and school design and the unique characteristics of public charter schools is a plus
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Apps
Working Conditions:
- Regular requirement to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Occasional evening and or weekend work
- Occasional travel
- Willingness to be trained as needed
Prior To Employment: Once an offer has been extended, a candidate must meet the following criteria to receive a final agreement:

Key Compensation:
- Annual salary range $100,000- $150,000
