OVERVIEW
The Transportation Driver is responsible for non-emergency transportation of participants in or seeking recovery. The transportation driver provides safe and efficient transportation to help participants build their recovery capital. Example destinations include to and from addiction treatment, medical appointments, support meetings, and their private residences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safe Driving :
- Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Delivery and Pickup :
Timely pickup and delivery of passengers to specified locations, following the assigned routes and schedules that may fluctuate.Vehicle Maintenance :
Perform routine checks and maintenance on the vehicle, including but not limited to, checking oil levels, tire pressure, and lights. Report any mechanical issues promptly.Customer Service :
Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor, assisting passengers as needed, and handling any inquiries or issues courteously.Work with diverse populations and uphold cultural humility principles.Documentation :
Accurately maintain logs of driving activities, including mileage and hours of service. Complete any required transportation paperwork.Safety Compliance :
Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of seat belts, proper lifting techniques, and adherence to company safety policies.Communication :
Maintain clear and effective communication with supervisors and other team members regarding transportation status, road conditions, and any unforeseen issues.Emergency Handling :
Respond appropriately to emergencies, including vehicle breakdowns or accidents, following company procedures and ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo.Other Duties
Stay current local events and trends with the recovery community.Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 or olderHigh School Diploma or GED or equivalent experiencePossess a valid driver's license with a minimum of five years driving experienceHave had no more than two at-fault accidents in the past three yearsHave a personal vehicle for participant transportationHold personal automobile liability insurance with limits of $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident / $100,000 property damageWilling to sign a motor vehicle record release form and have less than six deficiency points on the motor vehicle recordVehicle must be legally registered with up-to-date tagsHave no health problems that limit or restrict driver licensingComplete pre-employment and regular drug screeningsWillingness to work early mornings and weekendsMust be 18 or olderBe able to complete I-9 Employment Eligibility VerificationBe able to complete a background check (prior convictions may not necessarily disqualify an applicant)This job description is a general overview and may be subject to change based on the organization's needs and priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week that may include early mornings and weekendsTravel is required as work is performed generally from your own vehicleCompensation details : 17-17 Hourly Wage
