Position Summary

Assists with the day-to-day operations of Dining Services at assigned community. This includes managing inventory, ordering supplies, training staff, and providing excellent customer service. Responsible for identifying and evaluating current Dining Services as well as implementing all Volante expectations, policies, and procedures. Plans, implements, and reports all aspects of Dining Services operations to Vice President of Dining Services. Builds and strives to maintain high customer and associate satisfaction and successful financial results while assisting the assigned community.

Essential Duties

• Performs multiple daily walk-throughs of Dining Services areas to assure that Dining Services presents in the best light possible and to interact with residents, staff, and visitors to promote customer satisfaction.
• Build positive relationships with residents and understanding their dining preferences.
• Assists with providing proper orientation and initial training, and ongoing in-service education to meet the needs of staff and the regulatory requirements for the Dining Services Department. Proper documentation is required.
• Assists with managing the Dining Services budget within given budget parameters utilizing spend-down sheets provided for Dining Services.
• Assist with GROVE menu development, and new program implementation.
• Will cover vacant Dining Services Director position as assigned by VP of Dining Services.
• Assisting with food preparation, cooking, and serving meals to residents.
• Ensuring that meals are nutritious, delicious, and meet dietary requirements.
• Following food safety guidelines and maintaining proper hygiene practices.
• Monitoring food temperatures and handling food safely.
• Reporting any issues related to food quality or safety promptly.
• Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
• Serve as a daily dining services support contact for communities.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are met in the Dining Services Department.
• Support corporate marketing initiatives for assigned communities.
• Minimizes Worker's Compensation claims by providing in-services in high-risk areas of Dining Services.
• Is fully knowledgeable of the fire evacuation and disaster policy of the assigned community and participates as assigned in fire and disaster drills.
• Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
• Works with the Regional team to assist in regional initiatives as determined by the VP of Dining Services and VP of Operations.
• Provide weekly progress updates to the Vice President of Dining Services via Weekly Update Calls and Friday email report.
• Demonstrates an understanding of compliance and ethics program policies and procedures.
• Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned which relate to the success of Volante Senior Living.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Serv-Safe certification required.
• Previous experience in food service, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
• Prefer three years of experience in a senior management role within hospitality or culinary operations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational skills and high level of accuracy is essential.
• Must have an excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment.
• Flexibility to travel and work in state-of-the-art assisted living, independent living, and memory care communities across multiple states.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, understand the English language and be able to communicate effectively.
• Independent, self-starter, but also a team player. Able to work effectively with associates at all levels.
• Ability to maintain a high-level of integrity and trust and exercise sound judgment.
• Valid Driver's License and a clean motor vehicle report.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
