Director of Nursing

French Prairie Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is part of the Volare Health portfolio of long-term care skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation centers located in multiple states. We are looking for a Director of Nursing who shares our passion in caring for our residents and prides themselves on mentoring our next generation of nurses to guide them along their career path. You will be supported by a seasoned regional team.

Summary :

The Director of Nursing is responsible to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall functions of the Nursing Services Department.

Job Functions :

  • Planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall functions for the clinical department.
  • Assist in developing a preliminary and comprehensive assessment and written care plan for each resident.
  • Developing departmental budget for equipment, supplies, and labor.
  • Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Directing and motivating staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State.
  • BSN preferred.
  • 3 years skilled nursing supervisory experience is preferred but will consider supervisory experience from hospital or other health care setting.
  • Knowledge of general rehabilitative and restorative nursing, medical practices and procedures, and governing laws, regulations, and guidelines in long-term care.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, at all levels within the organization, and with the community.
