Resident Assistant

The Resident Assistant will serve as a companion to our residents. The ideal candidates must be able to tactfully handle difficult situations and be adaptable to the resident's needs.
Responsibilities :
- Support residents to and from scheduled appointments (pushing wheelchairs and provide fluids) as needed.
- Assist residents with their activities of daily living, encouraging residents on their personal cares such as : oral care, personal hygiene, nutrition, and personal appearance.
- Set up personal care items for residents (toothbrush / toothpaste, comb, brush, etc.).
- Assist residents with applying, removing, cleaning and storage such items as glasses, hearing aids, etc.
- Assist residents with dressing and grooming, consistent with weather conditions and according to their needs, wishes and desires.
- Support resident's participation in activity programs, assisting them (when needed) to the activity location and encourage participation in the activities.
- Respond to call lights but do not perform any direct patient care - referring to such requests to the CNAs / Nurses.
- Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment.
- Ensure residents have water and snacks in accordance with their dietary restrictions, if any.
