Centralized Admissions Coordinator
Summary: Manage referral review and admission processes for assigned facilities from central admissions office.
Schedule: Full-time, (9a - 6p or 10a-7p) (M-F)
Work Location: Remote (Supporting our HI region)
Pay: $50,000 - $60,000/YR (Salaried)

Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and implement effective communication with facilities and referral partners regarding admissions and bed availability.
- Manage referral intake process to include electronic referral in baskets, e-faxes and direct inquiries.
- Review referrals for acceptance based on clinical grid, including elevating those that need further clinical review and communicating admission decisions to referral partners.
- Confirm payers and partners with business office on verification of benefits and submission of pre-authorization where required.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Federal and State regulations and reimbursement (Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid).
- Effectively manage budgeted occupancy levels and census/premium mix enhancement.
- Alert appropriate department heads and building staff of projected admissions including orders, special equipment needs, transport time and room assignment.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the facility Administrator, Director of Nursing and Liaison to ensure appropriate and efficient decisions about prospective admissions.
- Maintain a database of medical contacts/community resources along with a knowledge of industry trends and legislative/regulatory issues and communicate this information to facility staff and community contacts.
- Complete required data entry of referrals into EHR system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration or Nursing; bachelor's degree preferred
- 2 years of experience as an Admission Coordinator in a healthcare facility or a similar role
- Exposure to health delivery system and medical vocabulary
