The Detailer position at Our Client involves creating detailed door and hardware schedules while ensuring compliance with local codes and project specifications. This role is critical in coordinating project requirements and verifying product selections to align with project needs accurately. This position could be fully remote, however we would also be open to someone in office in NC (Charlotte or Raleigh), Boston area, (Washington/Baltimore Area) MD, (Sarasota Area) FL.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed door and hardware schedules based on contract documents.
- Ensure local code compliance for all scheduled products.
- Review sales sheets and job requirements for accuracy in quantities and pricing.
- Determine opening quantities required for projects based on contract specifications.
- Schedule materials and verify product costs for optimal selections.
- Enter and compare costs during scheduling with estimated projections.
- Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using manufacturer catalog cuts.
- Create required drawings for elevations and sections using company software.
- Ensure project specifications meet all local code requirements.
- Provide detailed notes on potential issues for the General Contractor or Architect.
- Review schedules and submittals for accuracy before approval.
- Update submittals for re-submission or prepare orders as directed.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of job-related experience required.
- 1-5 years of experience in Division 08 industry preferred.
Experience working with Comsense is a plus. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications. Detail-oriented, with a focus on meeting deadlines and project goals. Strong mathematical skills required. Proficiency in industry-related software, particularly Microsoft Office. Familiarity with door, frame, and hardware applications related to codes and safety regulations. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in the commercial construction industry.
- Knowledge of UL, fire codes, building codes, ADA, and life safety regulations.
