Position Overview: Volition Industries is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Design Manager to join our team. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the construction design of our innovative energy projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction, with particular expertise in renewable energy and microgrid development design, including, PV rooftop, solar, carport and battery backup.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Commercial Construction Design activities for Volition’s projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within required code, and to the highest quality standards.
- Ability and comfortability to reach out to AHJs and Utilities to understand all guidelines and regulations required for a successful project from feasibility study to activation.
- Oversee the Design and Construction of customized Microgrids and Renewable systems, including interconnection drawings, single-line diagrams and calculations.
- Review Site Survey photos and notes to determine best structural and electrical infrastructure for Volition offerings to the client.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant commercial building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Working knowledge of the IEBC and NEC.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Develop, grow and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate best prices.
- Strategically develop Design strategies that will help in creating a training platform for future Design department needs.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Design Construction team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in Commercial Construction Design with expertise in renewable energy and microgrid development. Focusing on solar and battery backup.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale Comercial Design.
- Experience using Aurora, AutoCAD and Helioscope software.
- Experience in project management and communications with procurement partners.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

During the interview process, your recruiter will be explaining our total rewards (base, equity, bonus, perks, and benefit) offerings. The base salary for this role is targeted between $60K - $85K per year. Final offer amount is determined by your proficiencies within this level.
