Summary
Sets up and operates a variety of corrugated machinery to produce corrugated boxes within work order guidelines, quality checklist and production standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Committed to the practice of following and enforcing safety guidelines while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area. Safety is a collective responsibility and in our business is part of every operation. Strives to meet the objectives of our safety and health program that reduces the number of injuries and illnesses to an absolute minimum.
Sets up and operates corrugated machinery that prints, scores, slots, glues, folds, counts and bundles. Operates machinery at the highest production rate possible to produce quality products.
Responsible for productivity of machine and quality of work produced.
Conducts periodic quality checks on product while job is running and responsible for making corrections to set up if quality is below standard.
Accountable for completion and submission of accurate quality checklists, production sheets and computer entry of daily work.
Responsible for preventative maintenance and notifying supervisor of maintenance issues needing referral to maintenance staff.
Responsible for review and accuracy of work orders prior to running job.
Coordinates with Assistant Press Operator to confirm delivery of correct, good quality board to machine before each run.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related work experience in corrugated industry and/or paper industry would be helpful. Previous experience as Assistant Press Operator required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, machine set up instructions, checklist, and production reports. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, and other individuals of the organization. Ability to speak and communicate effectively with work crew.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with mechanical problems involving machine set up and mechanic parts.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to input work hours in time/attendance systems and record production in Amtech production software.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, carry or push/pull. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, as well as printing ink solutions and cleaning solutions. This job is performed in an industrial work environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is such that personal hearing protection is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $22.50 per hour
