Job Description
Role Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of vehicle's electronic architecture and functionality. The goal of this internship is to setup test benches for different vehicles platforms and make sure they're commissioned and fully functional. This will expose the intern to a lot of various tools and knowledge base.
My team is responsible for all product validation activities for connected infotainment services across all VW brand vehicles. we start very early on in the development cycle usually on a test rack and move on to vehicle level testing as the product matures. we test a wide variety of features, like Radio, Navigation, Car Play & Android Auto, online services (vehicle tracking, calling from the vehicle, wifi) and mobile app vehicle functionality.
The intern will gain knowledge and skills in vehicle's architecture, ECU coding and SW flashing, vehicle diagnostics, issue resolution and root cause analysis, for all the features mentioned above.
Role Responsibilities:
Provides documentation (failure report, CAN trace) on infotainment communication errors found during static and dynamic evaluation
- Uploads the documentation to the central database and follows up directly with responsible engineers for resolution
- Ensure the test benches and vehicles are at the correct version levels
- Define and implement changes with the team as required"
- Ensure that bench and vehicle test setups are up to date with the latest SW releases
- Ensure that coding is valid and up to spec
- Proper documentation of the latest vehicles and benches status
- set up a test rack from scratch
- ensure all control modules are configured and coded correctly
- identify setup issues and followup with specialists accordingly for solutions
- ensure the setup is functional as expected
Qualifications
Skills:
- Experience with automotive infotainment control modules
- Experience testing infotainment technology and the interaction with in-vehicle systems
- Understanding of vehicle communication networks and the ability to capture communication traces
- Degree in Electrical / Automotive Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Microsoft Office
