- Developing and implementing Virtual Aussenmeisterbock (Virtual Exterior Master Jig) or (VMB).
- Working with Measuring Analysis Specialists, in correlation of the VMB and the physical AMB.
- Performing detailed analysis from calculations derived thru Finite Element Simulations thru meshing of cad geometry, morphing of optical scan mesh data.
- Present the analysis in a concise and analytical manner to other department specialists and management.
- Root cause analysis based on simulations of cad and mesh scan data on outer more sheetmetal parts.
- Develop business cases (cost vs benefit) for development and/ or implementation of data analysis systems
- Tracking coordinating Change Management (Aeko's) (Engineering changes) within the measurement room.
- Implement Virtual Aussenmeisterbock VMB for new models
- Perform meshing of cad geometry, morphing of optical scan mesh data, calculation of opposing forces applied to specifc parts and evaluate results.
- Maintain and update the VMB system during model change and AEKO implementations
- Correlate VMB to a physical Aussenmeisterbock. Identify differences and develop acion plans
- Root cause analysis based on measurement data. Analysis for single parts / assemblies and interactions.
- Drive process improvements and escalate issues which are not resolved in a timely manner;
- Develop business cases (cost vs benefit) for development and/ or implementation analysis systems, new hardware systems and or softwares;
- Develop and implement innovative systemic tools to support daily activities and processes as well data reporting.
- Review, track upcoming product changes AEKO's. Notify the responsible person of upcoming changes
- Obtain initial qoutes from vednors for Engineering Changes related to measurement room (fxitures, equipment etc.)
- Respond to AEKO (Engineering Changes) with preliminary business case with respect to the measurement center.
- Systematicaly evaluate Body-Shop's inline devices with Measurement Center measurement results;
- Organize meetings and escalate topics open issues/ topics.
- Use existing available hardware in innovative ways to solve problems
Required
- 3 years' experience with Data Analysis Tools & Programming.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation experience
- Engineering degree in science, or mathematics, or physics and/or data analysis Automotive/Manufacturing background
- CAD advance knowledge (Catia V5)
- Experience coding in C/C , Python, Java,
- Experience in CMM programing
- Problem solving and implementation of corrective actions correlating data with problem solving methodology
- Experience with evaluating and improving products, systems and/ or processes
- Good understanding of product tolerances and Statistical Process Control tools
- Experience with optical and tactile measurement systems.
- Capacity to juggle multiple high priority tasks
Preferred
- Master's degree or Equivalent Experience
- Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- German Language skills
- Spanish Language skills
- Experience with Zeiss / GOM / Faro hardware and software systems
