Job Description
Volland Electric is a family owned and operated business founded in 1943 . We do not require a CDL at the outset, but it is preferred. We’ll help train you for your CDL and a long rewarding career with other opportunities for advancement. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently to all different manufacturers and companies in WNY. Our daily routes are mainly in WNY during normal business hours with opportunities for overtime. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving, vehicle operation, and logistics. The Driver will play a key role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of vehicles, including vans, box trucks, pickup trucks and straight trucks.
• Navigate designated routes to deliver goods to clients or designated locations.
• Load and unload products using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
• Tarp and strap loads to ensure compliance
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with our transportation manager regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and any issues encountered during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in route driving is preferred.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
• Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures using pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with customers and peers.
• Ability to lift heavy items as needed during loading/unloading processes.
• Being flexible and available as needed for our customer's needs, we value someone who is willing to go the extra mile
• Availability on nights and weekends as needed

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
