Job Summary:
The bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area.
Key Responsibilities1. Drink Preparation & Service
- Mix and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages according to recipes.
- Maintain knowledge of drink recipes, garnishes, and presentation.
- Ensure proper portion control and responsible alcohol service.
- Take and serve customer orders promptly and accurately.
2. Customer Service
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Handle complaints and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
3. Bar Maintenance & Cleanliness
- Keep the bar stocked with liquor, mixers, ice, and glassware.
- Maintain cleanliness by wiping down counters, washing glasses, and disposing of trash.
- Follow sanitation and health guidelines to ensure a clean working environment.
4. Cash Handling & Inventory Management
- Process customer payments accurately via cash, credit card, or POS system.
- Manage tabs and ensure proper billing.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the manager.
- Assist in stock rotation and restocking supplies as needed.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Check customer IDs and ensure legal drinking age compliance.
- Follow all alcohol service laws and responsible service guidelines.
- Handle bar equipment safely and follow emergency procedures if needed.
6. Teamwork & Communication
- Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff for smooth service.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding any issues or concerns.
- Assist in training new bartenders or barbacks when required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior bartending experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Responsible Beverage Service certification (if required by law).
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (e.g., kegs, crates of bottles).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $8.33 - $8.34 per hour
